RUMOUR: Critiano Ronaldo could leave Juventus for Real Madrid return
Jose Fonte 'wouldn't be surprised' if his friend and compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo left Juventus to seal an arrival to previous club Real Madrid.
Shock reports in Italy guarantee Juve are eager to take advantage of Ronaldo in the following exchange window to help reduce the financial weight on the club during the coronavirus emergency.
Corriere dello Sport report the Serie A giants are prepared to acknowledge a £50million offer for the Portugal superstar, and Real Madrid are said to be keen on taking back to the Spanish capital.
Five-time Ballon d'Or champ Ronaldo went through nine years in the Spanish capital before leaving for Turin in 2018 of a £100m deal.
The 35-year-old has been a tremendous hit in Italy, scoring 53 goals in 75 appearances and encouraging Juventus to their eighth back to back Serie A title last season.
Be that as it may, a potential come back to Madrid could entice him into leaving the Turin, as per his Portugal teamate Fonte.
“I know he loves Madrid, that’s for sure,” the Lille centre-back told talkSPORT host Jim White.
“It’s clear that he loves the club itself, it’s one of the biggest clubs in the world, if not the biggest.
“He’s left many, many friends there and he’s always left the door open.
“So I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes back to Real Madrid.”
Ronaldo helped Real to eight major pieces of silverware in nine years and playeed an instrumental role in four Champions League triumphs.
As per the report, however, the odds of the Spanish giants re-marking the star rely upon whether they can sign top target Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.
