Ighalo deserve a permanent deal at Manchester United - Joseph

The 46-year-old feels the former Super Eagles striker has done what's needed to procure a long-term deal at Old Trafford 


Nigeria legend Dosu Joseph has tossed his weight behind Odion Ighalo to make sure about a permanenent deal at Manchester United. 


The forward joined the Old Trafford outfit on transfer deadline day in January on a short-term loan from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua.

The move created a ton of anger from Red Devils fans who felt the 30-year-old probably won't satisfy hopes, given his age and the roughness of the Premier League.

Ighalo, who has been a fan of United since childhood, notwithstanding, proved his doubters wrong, hitting the ground running on his arrival.

The former Watford striker scored four goals and gave one assist in eight appearances over all competitions in the midst of other amazing display before the coronavirus outbreak carried football activities to a break.

"Well I have known Ighalo for a while now even before he moved to Manchester United," the former Nigeria goalkeeper told Goal.

"He is a great chap. He has a good attitude and he is good in everything. Nigerians are behind him. The best way I can describe him is that he is a blessed child.

"He deserved a permanent deal at Manchester United. It is not about the money, this is the club he wanted to be. He has been a fan of United even before he started his profeassional career."


"A few players will go for the cash however he didn't do that since he believes he despite everything has the enthusiasm, assurance to contend. I wish him the best and I ask he keeps on slamming in objectives," he included.

Ighalo, who is wanting to expand his agreement with the Red Devils, will be required to proceed with his splendid structure for the side when the Premier League resumes.
