Breaking news: Fire outbreak in Office of Accountant general of the federation in Abuja

The Nigerian Federal Government building, tagged “Treasury House” is located beside the Federal Capital Territory FCT Police Command in Garki, Abuja.



It was gathered that the fire started from the third floor and razed most parts of the building upwards including the floor where the Accountant General’s office is situated.



Firefighters are currently battling to put out the fire.

The Accountant General of the Federation is the administrative head of the treasury of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.The office holder is often appointed by the President of Nigeria to serve a four years term in accordance with the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria. The office was established in 1988 under the Civil Services reorganization Decree No. 43 of the constitution of Nigeria.




Currently, the Accountant General of the Federation is Mr. Ahmed Idris
